Public Works Division - Bill Kaskin, Foreman
The Village’s Public Works Division is responsible for
maintaining all Village properties including 7 buildings and structures, 5
main parks, 33 miles of streets and roads, and storm sewers.
Residents are reminded that the Village must be able to
effectively plow snow off of streets in order to maintain access for
emergency vehicles. In order to ensure that this is done,
Village Code prohibits parking on streets after a 2 inch snow fall until
the roads are clear. Also, residents are reminded not to place
snow from driveways in the street.
Sewer Division - Terry Trongeau, Head Operator
The Village’s Sewer Division is
responsible for maintaining the Village’s wastewater collection system and
treatment plant. As much as 750,000 gallons of wastewater is
treated daily at a newly expanded treatment plant, which allows the
Village to meet or exceed requirements established by the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources for discharge of water.
In the
event of a sewer back up into a home or business, customers are encouraged
to contact the Village immediately so that Village staff can determine
whether or not the main sewer line is clear before the resident incurs
professional charges from a plumber. Contact Village staff via the Police Department at 262-877-9056 in the event of a sewer back up. Please note that the
Village is not responsible for damages related to sewer backups.
Customers who use water softeners are encouraged to be sure the
softener is running efficiently and is using as little salt as
possible. The Village, in response to DNR requirements, is
undertaking a public education effort to get customers to focus on their
water softeners and softeners functions.
Making minor adjustments to how frequently a softener regenerates and
how much salt it uses each time can significantly reduces salt consumption
throughout the year. Contact your softener service company
