The Village of Twin Lakes is served by a Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District. The District's primary purpose is to protect and improve the lakes within the District boundaries - primarily Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth. The operations of the Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District are overseen by the Village of Twin Lakes' Board of Trustees acting in a separate capacity as the Board of Commissioners for the Lake District. Officially, the Lake District and the Village are separate governmental entities. The Lake District volunteers are organized into six committees, the activities of which are managed by a Steering Council. The members of the the Lake Steering Council and their committee responsibilities are as follows: Chair - Robert Livingston - Tom Connolly, Liaison William Haas - Boating Safety & User Conflicts - Mike Moran, Liaison Joe Bergeron - Communications, Education and Youth - Jeremy Knoll , Liaison Bryan Neal - Water Quality, Lake Habitat, Fish & Fishing - Sharon Bower , Liaison Tony Migon - Aquatic Plants, Natural & Invasive Species - Kevin Fitzgerald, Liaison Jamie Smith - Shoreline Protection & Rehabilitation - Howard Skinner , Liaison Vytau Barcus - Storm Water Management and Non-Point Pollution Mitigation - Tom Connolly, Liaison
