Police Chief
The Village of Twin Lakes (Population 6,388) is accepting applications for the position of Police Chief. The Twin Lakes Police Department is a full-time, full-service, law enforcement agency consisting of fourteen full-time sworn officers, along with sworn part-time and seasonal lake patrol positions. The Police Department also has a 24-hour dispatch center consisting of five full-time civilian employees along with part-time positions.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Village Administrator and Village Board of Trustees, the Police Chief is responsible for the protection of lives and property in the Village of Twin Lakes through supervision of all police department functions and personnel. The position holds the highest-level management position within the Police Department and is ultimately responsible for complete control, operation, and representation of the Villages Police Department and its employees.
The Police Chief is responsible for managing the physical facilities and equipment; supervising department activities and personnel; formulating and enforcing department rules of conduct and policies; coordinating departmental activities with outside agencies; and preparing, presenting, and managing department budgets.
Salary Range: $90,992-$95,325

Education Requirement:
Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum Qualifications:
The preferred candidate must have at least ten years of sworn full-time law enforcement experience with a minimum of two years of supervisory experience at the rank of Lieutenant or above. Candidates must be able to demonstrate managerial, leadership, and supervisory level experiences and have completed supervisory level training (FBINA, Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, FBI LEEDA, WI Command College, or similar).
Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously

Ability to possess a firearm
Ability to use all standard law enforcement equipment
Able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Clear and concise speech
Valid Driver’s license
Eligibility for Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board Certification
Good driving record

Good verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge and skills in operating computer systems
No domestic abuse convictions
No felony convictions
Previous experience
