The Building Inspector and a Police Officer make up our Code Enforcement team. Together they work to ensure compliance with our Property Maintenance Code through inspection of commercial, multi-family and single family residences. The Village desires to work closely with property owners to correct violations and improve blighted conditions in a reasonable time frame.

The Twin Lakes Village Board approved Ordinance 2013-9-1 creating the Property Maintenance Ordinance setting standards for maintaining private property.
Items we look at:
- Grass/Weeds
- Vehicle storage
- Parkway obstructions
- Work without permits
- Improper storage
- Exterior surfaces
- Sanitation
When a violation is observed, it will be noted and a letter will be sent advising the owner of the deficiency and a time frame to achieve compliance.
