We have been informed by Kenosha County that tax bills have been mailed. With the new County-wide tax program being implemented, please be patient since we are learning this new system as we go. All payments must be made separately; therefore we will need a separate check for tax payments, sewer payments and pet licensing. Payments may be made in person, by mail, or left in the drop box in front of the Village Hall. First installments are due to the Village by January 31st, 2017 and second installments to Kenosha County by July 31st, 2017. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the Hall.

The installation of Uniform Address Signs will begin Friday, July 1. Thank you for your patience as the sign listing was created, signs were printed, and the Village install was scheduled. With over 3,000 signs to install, this is not a quick task. Signs will be installed in alphabetical order by street name. Due to the requirement of having utilities marked on each parcel, approximately 70 signs will be installed per day, so the overall installation should take about 2 months.
The Village recognizes that with a 3,000 parcel list, some errors may be present, or the need for additional signage may arise. Once all 3,000 signs are installed, the Village will create and purchase a 2nd round of signs for replacements or additions at the Village’s cost.
With 3,000 installs it is impossible to meet every resident’s preferences for the optimal installation location. Lange Enterprises installs signs of this nature throughout the state and use their best judgment and experience to choose a uniform location.
Homeowners have the right to relocate the sign to a more preferable location as long as it meets the requirements set in the ordinance:
the sign must be:
1) perpendicular to the roadway’s center line so the address is clearly visible
2) no more than 20 feet from the driveway on either side
3) between 3 and 5 feet off the ground
Written consent by the Village is needed for any installation outside these parameters.
Thank you again for your patience and cooperation as we install signs to improve public safety and navigability throughout our community.
