SLOW NO WAKE UPDATE: Slow No Wake rules will remain in effect until 9am Saturday. Lake levels remain high due to 2″ of rain earlier this week so additional time is needed to bring down the lake levels. No wake is encouraged whenever possible to help safeguard the shoreline. Please stay as far from shore as is possible and safe during this holiday weekend when making a wake. Again- Slow No Wake continues until 9:00am Saturday at which time both lakes are open boating.
6/25/18 12:17pm: SLOW NO WAKE continues to be in effect from last week’s rainfall (nearly 7″ accumulated fall from the entire week). We will continue monitoring the lakes each day, however a determination will be made on Thursday afternoon on whether or not we can lift the SNW restriction for the weekend. We have about 2.5″ left to drop before our shorelines are protected.
At this point, we do anticipate lifting SNW, however rain is forecasted for tomorrow. So depending on the weather over the next few days, we are hopeful to have open boating on Friday. Updates will be released on our Facebook page and website on Thursday.
Effective 6/19/18, SLOW NO WAKE is in effect for both Lakes Mary and Elizabeth.
After 4″ of rain in the past 24 hours, the lake level at the spillway has reached 794.5′ in elevation. We are therefore putting SLOW NO WAKE in effect until further notice on both Lake Mary and Lake Elizabeth. The spillway will be checked daily until SNW can be lifted. Please check the Village website, facebook page, and downtown sign to find out when SNW has been lifted. Until then, all boating activity is restricted to speeds low enough to not create a wake. We anticipate the lakes being open before the weekend but will update the public via the outlets previously mentioned.
