Main Break – 8/25/2020

Village Residents,

A leak in a sanitary sewer force main was found, and repaired on August 25th. The leak in the force main was located at:

12600 374th Ave.
Bassett, WI 53101

The leak was calculated at approximately 10 gallons per minute. The small volume allowed for the sewage to be absorbed back into the ground no more than 45 feet from the leak location. During the repair the remaining sewage in the force main was drained back to the dig site where the sewage was pumped into trucks, and dumped into the wastewater treatment plant.
Also, the closest residential, or commercial structure was 515’ from the leak site reducing the potential for human exposure, personal injury, or severe property damage.
A thank you goes out to the landowners at, or near the leak site for their cooperation with allowing the sewer department to resolve this issue as quickly and efficiently as possible.
